This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
